Western Green Hairstreak found at Inks Lake State Park
Is that a Bee or a Fly β
Itβs a hoverfly. They look like bees though. The best way to tell them apart is their wings. Hoverflies have two, bees have four. They do pollinate though and they donβt sting so let them be β€
It's so close! π»
Spring is almost here!
Happy Tuesday! π
I canβt wait for my dragonflies to come back!
Happy Friday π
Katydid
Lesser Goldfinch π
Wondering why in the heck there is snow in Austin.
Taking Off β
Caught this little Asian Lady Beetle getting ready to take off from a dandelion
And Just Like That...π
We are back to Spring.
Nature's Puffy Jacket π
A Dove fluffing up its feathers to stay warm during our crazy week of snow (today itβs going to be 81!)
Cardinal π¦
Male Cardinal hanging out during the ice storm
Frozen Bubble π§
The last of the frozen bubbles - I am so happy that it is finally warming up. It was fun (and exhausting) trying these shots. I made a homemade bubble solution with a straw to make the bubble.

Snow Day! β
Bubbles! ββ
As long as I can remember, itβs never been below 15 degrees in Austin. What a crazy week. But I was able to work on freezing bubbles, which is something I never thought I would have the chance to try.
Frozen β
Iβm fairly certain there wonβt be any bees on this one for the next 4 days!
Nectar π
Fun Fact: The type of flower the bees take their nectar from determine the honeyβs flavor!
Stocking Up π
Yesterday Austin hit a record high (85!), and a week from today, the highs will be in the 30s (and lows in the teens - yikes!). Some believe that bees can predict the weather, which is why there were so many bees out yesterday stocking up. π
Happy Thursday β€
Taking Off π
I caught him taking off from the dandelion. Fun Fact: Did you know that bees may visit up to 2,000 flowers a day? Makes me tired just thinking about that. :)
Still π
It amazes me that my 8 year-old model was still enough for me to get this shot - that takes talent! π Can you see me?
